Day 1: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Afternoon Game Drive.
Your safari guide will pick you up from your hotel or airport and brief you about the safari, then start your scenic drive through Tanzania’s beautiful countryside towards Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, you will pass through the Great Rift Valley and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding highlands.
Upon arrival, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for an exciting afternoon game drive. The crater floor is home to beautiful wildlife, including elephants, lions, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hyenas, and the rare black rhino, and many others. After the game drive, you will ascend the crater rim transfer to your safari lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning crater exploration and departure.
After breakfast, start on your final morning game drive within the Ngorongoro Crater. The early hours offer excellent opportunities to spot predators returning from their nighttime activities and then herbivores grazing across the crater floor.
You may visit the hippo pool, where large groups of hippos can often be seen relaxing in the water, and enjoy spectacular photographic opportunities against the backdrop of the crater’s towering walls. You will also spot the flamingos and numerous other bird species around Lake Magadi.
After completing your Tanzania safari experience, ascend from the crater and start on your journey to Arusha in the afternoon, which marks the end of your memorable Ngorongoro safari.
