Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick Up from Nairobi to Hell’s Gate National Park and Transfer to Lake Naivasha
You will be picked up from your hotel in Nairobi and begin your drive to Hell’s Gate National Park. The journey takes about two hours, with a scenic stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint, where you can stretch, take photos and enjoy the breathtaking views. When you arrive at Hell’s Gate National Park, you will enjoy one of its unique experiences, as the park allows visitors to walk or cycle inside. You may choose to go on a guided walking safari or hire a bicycle and ride through the park while spotting wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, warthogs, buffaloes, and a variety of bird species.
You will visit the famous Hell’s Gate Gorge, where you will walk through narrow rock formations shaped by volcanic activity and water erosion. The driver guide will take you back to Lake Naivasha afterwards. Lunch will be served at your lodge, followed by free time in the afternoon to relax by the lake, enjoy the scenery or take a nature walk around the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay will be at your lodge near Lake Naivasha.
Day 2: Lake Naivasha Boat Ride and Nature Walk
After breakfast, you will head to Lake Naivasha for a boat cruise. During the ride, you will have close views of hippos in the water and spot various bird species such as African fish eagles, kingfishers, cormorants and pelicans. After the boat ride, you may visit Crescent Island, where you will enjoy a guided nature walk where you will spot animals such as giraffes, zebras, wildebeests and antelopes.
Later, you will return to the lodge for lunch. The afternoon will be spent at leisure, giving you time to relax at the lodge and take photos of the lake views. Dinner and an overnight stay will be served at the lodge.
Day 3: Depart for Nairobi
You will have breakfast in the morning. After breakfast, you will have a short walk for birdwatching experiences. After birdwatching, you check out and are transferred back to Nairobi, where you will check into a lodge upon arrival. That will mark the end of the 3 days Hell’s Gate and Lake Naivasha adventure.
