3 Days Virunga Gorilla Trekking
This is a 3 days safari from Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, to Virunga national park in Congo, where you get to meet the endangered mountain gorillas. This 3 days safari exposes you to the behaviours and way of life of the mountain gorillas, starting with a pickup from Kigali Airport to Bukima, where you will spend the night, and then you will conduct the gorilla trek in Virunga National Park on Day 2. This Congo safari will conclude with a transfer back to Kigali Airport, including a visit to Kimironko market for souvenirs.

Day 1: Pick up from Kigali Airport and transfer to Bukima
On day 1 of the 3 days of Virunga gorilla trekking, a guide will meet you at Kigali Airport, where you will interact about the 3 days of Virunga gorilla trekking and then the guide will transfer you from Kigali airport to Bukima. You will have a stopover for lunch at Goma and then you will proceed. When you arrive, you will check into a hotel and unwind. You will then be served dinner and you will retire to bed.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park
On day 2 of the 3 days of Virunga gorilla trekking, you will have an early morning breakfast and then the guide will transfer you from the lodge with your packed lunch to the Bukima ranger post for a briefing. You will be told about what you are supposed to do and not do while gorilla trekking. You will be assigned an armed ranger guide and told which gorilla family to find. You will then set off to the forest, where you will have various encounters with other wildlife species. You will trek for about 30 minutes to 7 hours searching for the gorillas. After spotting them, you will stay with them for one hour in their natural habitat, and you will be able to observe how they feed, play, breastfeed, and much more.
After spending time with the gorillas, you will return to the lodge to relax. In the evening, you will have dinner and then retire to bed.

Day 3: Transfer back to Kigali
On day 3 of the 3 days of Virunga gorilla trekking, you will have an early morning breakfast at the lodge and after, you will check out of the lodge. The driver guide will pick you up from the lodge and transfer you back to Kigali. You will have a stopover for lunch and then you will proceed to Kimironko market in Kigali. At Kimironko market, you will interact with the Rwandese locals, who will enlighten you more on their culture and as you tour around the market, you will be able to see numerous items like clothes, baskets, necklaces, art pieces and many more that are designed in a way that brings out the culture and traditions of Rwanda. After purchasing souvenirs, the guide will transport you to the airport for your flight.
