A 4 days Ndutu migration and Ngorongoro Crater safari is an exciting Tanzania migration safari that offers you the chance to witness the great wildebeest migration in the southern Serengeti plains, watching the wildebeest bring life, with different predators lurking in the area. During the experience, you will also spot incredible animal species like zebras, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, and many others. During this Tanzania safari, you will also explore the Ngorongoro Crater and have a cultural experience in Mto wa Mbu.
Day 1: Transfer to Ndutu area for a game drive.
Drive time: Approximately 7 hours; a flight option is available.
Your safari guide shall pick you up from the airport or from your hotel in Arusha; he will welcome you and brief you after the safari. After starting on your journey, drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area as you proceed to the southern Serengeti in the Ndutu area, where the great wildebeest migration is. Upon arrival, enjoy your lunch, and then after lunch.
Drive to the park to see the wildebeest herds; you will watch them as they calve, and if you are lucky, you will watch them being hunted by the lurking predators. During the experience, you will watch many other animals like elephants, zebras, cheetahs, giraffes, leopards, and many others. After the experience, drive back to your lodge for dinner, relaxation, and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Ndutu Wildebeest Calving Experience.
After breakfast, meet your safari driver and drive to the park to explore the wildebeest-covered southern plains of Serengeti National Park in the Ndutu Area. During the experience, you will watch the wildebeests calving; that is such an impressive and stunning experience, witnessing the calves being born, as well as watching different species, including the predators in the park, hunting for their meal. Afterwards, you will enjoy lunch in the park and later proceed with the game drive. Later, dinner and overnight stay as above.
Day 3: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Ngorongoro Crater drive.
Drive Time: Approximately 3 hours.
After breakfast, you will check out from your lodge and, together with a packed lunch, then start driving to the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive in the crater. You will descend 600 metres into the crater, which is home to many wildlife species, including the big five mammals: lions, rhinos, leopards, buffaloes and elephants. Other wildlife species to be spotted in the crater include hyenas, wildebeests, cheetahs, zebras, hippos, waterbucks, warthogs and many others.
During the experience, you will watch different bird species, including ostriches as well as flamingos, common along the shores of Lake Magadi. After your game drive around the Ngorongoro Crater, later enjoy lunch and then go for more game viewing. After proceeding to the lodge, check in and relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: Mto wa Mbu Cultural Tour, Departure.
Drive Time: Approximately 4 hours.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and then start on your journey to Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight or to your hotel of stay in Arusha. Along the way, you shall enjoy a Mto wa Mbu cultural tour, interacting with the different tribes of Tanzania, and a community visit. After the experience, proceed with your journey and then be dropped off at the airport for your flight check-in, and this brings your safari to an end.
