4 Days Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti Migration Safari | Tanzania Wildlife Safaris.
A 4 days Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti migration safari is a short but rewarding Tanzania wildlife safari that takes you to the outstanding Tanzanian national parks; during the Tanzania safari, you will visit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which is famous for the crater game drive, as well as Serengeti National Park for the great migration safari.
Day 1: Transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area, Ngorongoro Crater Drive.
Drive time: Approximately 4 hours.
Your safari driver will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha or the airport upon arrival; he will welcome you and brief you about the safari and proceed with a 4-hour drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater floor, which is home to the Big 5 animals and well over 25,000 animals. You will spot different animal species like lions, elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, leopards, kobs, zebras, and many others.
During the experience, you will watch different bird species, especially in and around Lake Magadi, which is home to many pink flamingos; your Ngorongoro Crater game drive shall be accompanied by a picnic lunch, after which you shall enjoy more game viewing. Later dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Transfer to Serengeti National Park (Northern Area).
Drive time: Approximately 6 hours.
After breakfast, with a packed lunch, check out and then proceed to transfer to the northern part of Serengeti National Park, driving through Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the central part of Serengeti National Park, all the while looking out for the different wild game that you shall spot whilst on your drive, punctuated with a picnic lunch stop in Serengeti National Park.
As you drive to your camp, you spot the migrating herds and, if time allows, enjoy a short game drive in the northern Serengeti in the Mara River area, chancing to spot the anticipated Mara River crossing. Upon arrival, check in and then relax as you wait for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Hot air balloon experience and game drive in Serengeti National Park.
You will be picked up from the camp as early as 5 am and then transferred to the launch area of the hot air balloon, with the chance to spot nocturnal animals like leopards and many more. You will enjoy a hot cup of coffee/tea as you watch the making of the hot air balloon. You will have a one-hour ride over the park while watching different animals and the migrating herds as you admire the scenic views of the park. After the hot air balloon ride, a bush breakfast is accompanied by a glass of sparkling wine.
After meeting your guide with your packed lunch boxes, start on the game drive in the Mara River area with the chance to spot the wildebeest migration as well as spot different animals in the area. You will enjoy your packed lunch in the middle of the wilderness yet again. Drive to your camp for dinner, relaxation, and overnight stay.
Optional hot air balloon experience: hot air balloon at 550 USD per person.
Day 4: Departure.
After breakfast, check out from your lodge and then prepare for your drive to Arusha while enjoying an en-route game drive in Serengeti National Park for an additional safari experience. Along the way, you will pass through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and then be rewarded with impressive views; along the way, have lunch en route. Upon arrival, be dropped off at the hotel in Arusha or the airport that brings your safari to an end of the 4 Days Ngorongoro Crater and Serengeti Migration Safari.
