7 Days Kibale, Queen Elizabeth And Lake Bunyonyi Safari

The 7 days Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, and Lake Bunyonyi is a full week Uganda safari experience to Kibale National Park, the primate capital is Uganda, which hosts approximately 13 primate species of where you will engage in Chimpanzee trekking and also sight several primate species while on the chimpanzee trek.

You will then visit Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will enjoy the wildlife that is sheltered there, for example, the tree-climbing lions, buffalo, leopard, elephants and many more, plus a boat ride on the Kazinga channel. You will conclude the safari with a visit to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda, with about 29 islands. This will reward you with numerous activities like Canoeing, zip lining, swimming, exploring islands, among others.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Kibale National Park

You will be picked up by our company representative at a hotel in Kampala, and you will be taken to Kibale National Park. You will have a stopover in Fort Portal Town for lunch and then visit to Amabere Ga Nyinamwiru caves for exploration and the crater lakes. You will check into a lodge in Kibale National Park for dinner and your night’s stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk

Early morning breakfast and head to Kanyanchu visitor’s centre for a briefing about the guidelines to follow while chimpanzee trekking. You will set off at 8 am for the chimpanzee trek, taking about 2 to 4 hours. You will have one hour with the chimpanzees and then get back to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, you will go for a Bigodi swamp walk that will take about 2 to 3 hours. You will spot various wildlife species like primates, birds and mammals. You will have dinner and your night stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and an afternoon game drive

After enjoying an early morning breakfast, you will check out of the lodge, and the guide will transfer you to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This will take about 2 hours to reach Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have lunch upon arrival at Queen Elizabeth National Park at the lodge.

You will have an afternoon game drive in the Kasenyi plains for approximately 3 to 4 hours, returning to the lodge after sighting animals like elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, Uganda Kob, bushbucks, warthog,s among others. You will have dinner and your night’s rest

Day 4: Morning game drive and a boat cruise

 Early in the morning, after breakfast, a guide will take you for a briefing and then go for a morning game drive that will take place in the Kasenyi plains. You will meet the animals and birds in their most active state. You will meet 4 of the big five animals while on the game drive. After 3 to 4 hours of the morning game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch.

An afternoon boat cruise at the Kazinga channel will begin at 2 pm and it will last for approximately 2 to 3 hours. There will be several aquatic animals that you will spot while on the boat cruise, for example, the crocodiles and hippos. You will also spot those on land at the shores, like the elephants, lions and buffalo. The guide will return you to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Early in the morning, you will have breakfast, and then you will check out of the lodge. The guide will transfer you to Lake Bunyonyi. The journey will take about 4 to 5 hours. You will have an enroute lunch at Igongo cultural centre. You will proceed to Lake Bunyonyi and check into a lodge for relaxation. You have dinner and then retire to bed.

Day 6: Exploration of Lake Bunyonyi

After enjoying an early morning breakfast at the lodge, the guide will transfer you to Lake Bunyonyi for an exploration. As it is known that Lake Bunyonyi is home to 29 islands, for example, the punishment island, you will explore some of them as you have the scenic views of the surroundings and learn about the history of those islands.

You will have a break for lunch and then continue with zip lining, which will reward you with an immense experience of swinging on the calm waters. You will have several encounters with bird species, and then the guide will drive you back to the lodge for dinner and your night’s rest.

Day 7: Depart for Kampala

Have an early morning breakfast on day 7 and then check out of the lodge. You will have a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch and then proceed to Kampala of where you will arrive in the evening and check into a hotel in Kampala or head to the Airport for a flight.
