Best Time to Visit
Uganda’s wildlife safaris can be enjoyed year round, but certain seasons are better for specific activities; Game drives are perfect during the dry seasons; June to September and December to February, when animals gather along waterways and the trails are easier to follow.
During the rainy seasons Lush greenery and lower tourist crowds occur in March to May and October to November. Trails could be muddy especially in composed of forest like Bwindi.
Booking Permits
Gorilla trekking permits cost $800 per person and they have to be booked in advance to meet the high demand.
Chimpanzee trekking permits go for $250 per person at Kibale Forest National Park.
What to Pack
Clothing: lightweight layers, a sturdy hiking boot and a waterproof jacket.
Accessories: With a good quality camera, binoculars, sunscreen, insect repellent, you’ll be in a better place.
Snacks and water: Keep hydrated and energized on long walks and game drives.
