The Rushaga Sector is one of the most fascinating places to go on a gorilla trek in Uganda, and it is located deep into the southern corner of the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Location and Accessibility
Rushaga is located in the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and it crosses the boundaries of Kisoro district and Rubanda district in southwestern Uganda. It occupies the heights of 1,900 to 2,500 above the sea level, and presents pleasant temperatures with a clear view of the Virunga Volcanoes on a clear day. The sector is well accessible through some of the major tourism hubs. It is approximately one and a half hours by road, and two and a half hours by road, respectively, from Kisoro town and out of Kabale. Rushaga is also an excellent entry point or exit point of cross-border safaris between Uganda and Rwanda because travellers visiting Rushaga, travelling between Kigali, Rwanda, can easily reach it within 4-5 hours via the Cyanika border point or Katuna border point.
To the individual who is travelling between Kampala and Entebbe, it takes about 9-10 hours by road through Mbarara and Kabale. Alternatively, tourists can have a domestic flight at Entebbe International Airport and then make a scenic drive to Rushaga after flying to Kisoro Airstrip. It also sheds more light on the behaviour of gorillas, the conservation, and how wild gorillas can be slowly introduced to human habitation.
The experience of habituation is also personal due to the limited number of people taken per day, and it is most suited to those interested in wildlife and wildlife photography, as well as conservation proponents hoping to have an even more personal experience with the gorillas. This experience has a permit fee of $1,500, and the normal gorilla trekking permit $800 per head.

Community and Cultural Visits: The visitors can explore the local communities of Bakiga and Batwa in order to explore the rich cultural heritage of Uganda. Best Time to Visit Rushaga
